Male Voice Choir CHOR-FARMER

CHOR-FARMER

CHOR-FARMER was organized as a Male Voice Choir of Tokyo University of Agriculture in 1967 by Hiroshi Masumoto. Now it carries out a wide activity as a general group apart from university organizations. It has the results of winning prizes in many contests, and it is an excellent choir in the best level. Last January (2018), we had memorial concert of the 50th Anniversary in Tokyo.

Performance activities have been postponed due to prevention of Covid19 infection. However, we are continuing to practice in small groups. We are continuing our activities for the 92nd regular concert and the 22nd goodwill tour.

A performance tour

CF has held Australia & New Zealand concert tour every two years since 1977. We are extending the friendship with people of the two countries by longtime steady activity. This September, we carried out the 21st Goodwill tour, 2018.

Music

CF gives 3 regular concerts a year in Tokyo. We sing various countries songs in the original languages. Particularly Japanese and Schubert songs are important repertoires. Most of our repertoires are arrangement by Hiroshi Masumoto. We released many arranged collections and music CDs.

The musical director Mr.Hiroshi Masumoto founded Chor-Farmer in 1967.
He is a composer, and all repertoires of Chor-Farmer are his arrangements. He has a profound knowledge of a genre to be wide to world folk songs and popular music as well as classical music including Schubert. And he gives rich music characteristics to Chor-Farmer.
He shows the superior ability for various creation activity for the choir with a computer, making music scores and CDs, and editing of publicity booklet of the choir.
In 2017, he was honored the New Zealand Order of Merit as recognized his long term efforts for the goodwill and cultural exchange in New Zealand and Australia.


Pianist
Masako Yuyama

Masako Yuyama graduated from piano department of Tokyo University of Fine Arts and Music.
Her main activity is accompaniment of Chor-Farmer and gives a recital as a soloist regularly in Tokyo.
